Organization Structure

The Current Planning Department performs day-to-day functions of zoning ordinance administration that include reviewing zoning permits, handling board of adjustments issues, pursuing zoning violations, and meeting requests for zoning information.

This department functions as staff to the Campbell County and Municipal Planning and Zoning Commission, the Cold Spring Planning and Zoning Commission, and the Kenton County Planning Commission. In those roles, staff assists in their review of amendments to the various zoning maps, amendments to the text of the various zoning ordinances, development plans, and the location and siting of cellular telecommunication facilities.

The Current Planning Department also maintains updates to the zoning ordinances in Kenton County and several cities in Campbell County.

The department’s staff is responsible for working with the public on all zoning administration including permit review, zoning enforcement and the review of board adjustments. The Current Planning department also works with zoning changes, text and map amendments and develops plan reviews.
