The Long-Range Planning Department assists citizens to envision and create a desirable community in which to live, work, play and raise families. Challenges such as budgets, physical limitations, and social factors must be considered to ensure that the community efficiently moves toward its future plans. The Long-Range Planning Department assists in this effort by providing research and data collection/management, and by conducting citizen-input-based planning studies that provide a framework for positive changes in the community’s quality of life.
The goal of the Long-Range Planning Department is to stay ahead of trends and to advise or provide foresight to our community on ideas, programs, and methods that can move it forward.
The department’s staff is responsible for conducting and updating several different plans and studies for Kenton and Campbell Counties; comprehensive plans, specialized planning studies, and service studies for bicycles, pedestrians, and emergency services.
