  • Building Codes Administers all aspects of the state-wide Kentucky Building Code— reviewing construction plans, issuing permits, and inspecting all new construction to assure it meets minimum standards.
  • Current Planning Administers provisions of 21 separate zoning ordinances— reviewing construction plans, issuing zoning permits, and following through to assure all land use activities meet the requirements of the applicable zoning ordinance.
  • Engineering  Oversees the subdivision of land in 23 jurisdictions— reviewing construction plans and plats to assure that all minimum standards are met and inspecting the construction of infrastructure to assure it’s installed correctly.
  • Geo Info Systems Oversees the development of highly-accurate digital maps for a three-county area— providing the data for a wide range of public and private sector users and serving it up for citizens through a full-featured website.
  • Long-Range Planning Analyzes community needs and crafts plans to address those needs— working closely with citizens and local officials to make sure those plans reflect their wishes and ensure a more prosperous, safer, tomorrow.
